01: News & Updates
APRIL 2nd // Spring is for the Birds
Myke and I were in a group art show called Home Tweet Home at the Genuine Artikle Gallery in New York. A variety of artists were given unfinished bird houses and told to decorate them as they saw fit. Pictures of the show can be found here, in the gallery’s myspace albums. I put up some photos of mine as I was working on it, found here. And a look at Myke’s can be found here. It was fun. There were some really cool birdhouses. You should check it out.
MARCH 13th // Catching Up
Our weeks have been very hectic lately. Myke and I are in the process of cleaning up and remodeling our studio apartment. I had to say goodbye to a beloved feline in my life sixteen years. And we’ve been trying to get our spring and summer trips/conventions mapped out. But beyond this very mundane variety of domestic things, a rather nice little thing has happened. One evening while staying with Myke’s very cool artist uncle in Ohio, Myke asked me to marry him. To which I of course said yes. We have no date as of yet, nor any desire to rush it, but we are now engaged and extremely happy. Many thank yous to the people who’ve sent me emails with congrats.
DECEMBER 12th // Modofly.net
Modofly.net creates moleskin journals and sketchbooks decorated with the art of a wide variety of artistic talent. One of my mechanical insects has been used for their journal decoration, to be seen/nabbed by following this link. They need to work on my info a little bit, but the journal looks cool and worth pointing out.
DECEMBER 10th // Christmas and Airships
Myke has been on an airship roll all month. He’s put together a lovely set of steampunk inspired scratch-board pieces, that are now available for purchase as prints, as well as sampling an airship that is a small portion of the painting he’s working on for Vernian Process. To see these lovely examples of steam power and my better half’s incredible artistic talents, visit his online portfolio, or our project site the Miskatonic Archive, or just cut out the middle man altogether and take a look at our Etta Diem store on etsy.com for prints and our Christmas sales.
DECEMBER 5th // Gothic Art Now
Myke and I are both apart of the wonderful collection of artists featured in a new coffee table art book, Gothic Art Now. This book includes work by Scott Radke, H.R. Giger, John Santerineross, and the foreword was written by my most favorite of artists Brom. For more info or to snag your own copy, just clicky clicky this link.
NOVEMBER 27th // Happy Gluttony Day!
Myke and I were recently interviewed for a couples feature in Weird Tales magazine. We’re not sure of which issue it will appear in, but when we do we shall pass that along. Now have a happy turkey day and be safe.
NOVEMBER 19th // Rasputina Love
I’m excited to announce that I will be working up some art for my most favorite of musicians and antique knicker wearer Melora Creager. Have a look at the “Collections” link for samples of the project. For those rare and strange birds who are not familiar with Rasputina, follow this link for a proper education on the subject. Your musical taste buds will be ever so glad you did.
OCTOBER 31st // Happy Halloween!
Myke and I are in the process of moving our dark carnival from New England back to Michigan for awhile. We may be a tad hard to get a hold of for the next few weeks as we get the traveling and settling out of the way. In the mean time, our Etta Diem store is running some lovely Halloween sales, to be found by pointing your mouse to this linky here. Have a wonderful spooky holiday and wish us luck. We are the ultimate dual artists and pet felines caravan to be found on the roads this weekend.
